VilanCulos Beach
Vilankulo Beach is long crescent shaped stretch of coastline along the Indian Ocean. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful beaches in Africa.
Depending on where you are staying, Vilanculos Beach is the departure point for getting to the Bazaruto Archipelago.
Paradise Island (Santa Carolina Island)
Our first excursion was to Paradise Island from Vilanculos Beach via Supercat.
Paradise Island was naturally gorgeous and sparsely populated. Truly remote & relaxing.
Visiting Paradise Island in the Bazaruto Archipelago was a great reminder that many of us have accepted a very limited view of Africa and what it has to offer.
Vila do Paraiso’s staff took us aboard their Supercat and sailed us out to the islands. They packed lunch for us and set up a tent and chairs on the shore of Paradise Islands.
Bazaruto Island
Bazaruto Island took my breath away. The enormous sand dunes alongside the tropical coastline is breathtaking to see.
We sailed out to Bazaruto Island and enjoyed a braai (bbq) and drinks on the beach. When we arrived there were just a hand full of people present.
By the time we left, we had the beach entirely to ourselves.
